All Bollywood Actress Promoting Sulman Khan Welfare Organization "Being Human"

Entertainment Magazine...

Actor Salman Khan’s Being Human clothing line is gearing up for a global unveiling this month. “Around April 15, we will launch the line in Dubai and it will be available in over 100 stores across the United Arab Emirates. Next month, it will come to Mumbai. Soon, not just at Cotton World, authentic Being Human merchandise that includes tees, shirts, trousers, jeans and watches will be available across the city,” promises the Bollywood star, who recently tied up with the online travel website, yatra.com, to help his charity grow.
Pointing out that he’s often asked how people can contribute to his initiative, Salman says that it is possible to make a token donation with every ‘yatra’ (journey) they undertake. “By buying a ticket on this online portal, you are making it possible for someone who is not so privilege, to get a better education or treatment for an illness,” says Salman, whose merchandise will also be available on the travel website.

The proceeds from all the sales go directly to his foundation. “I want to take Being Human through the roof. Even though we will run it as a business, the idea is not to treat it as one. Whatever money we make from it will go back to the charity and the country,” asserts Salman, before explaining why it’s taking time to source the property and set up the Being Human chain of cafes and restaurants that he has in mind. “It can only happen in partnership with like-minded people who care for those who are not so well off.”

Interestingly, Salman has begun this new association not just as a brand ambassador, but as a shareholder too.

“It’s easy to endorse something, take your fee and walk away. But I believe that if you support something, you eat it, wear it, get into it as an equal partner so that if they go down, you go down with them and vice versa,” he points out.

In his new role, the actor is urging people to avoid travel agents and opt for a self-service site that promises the best deals. “Money saved is money earned, and money spent is money used to care for those, who need you to dream of a better life,” he says, admitting that he is carefully monitoring the responses to the new commercial featuring him. “If people like it, great. If not we can always bring Boman Irani back to replace me.”
